How to get to Xylokastro
Travel to Xylokastro for our wedding.
Fly into Athens International Airport (ATH), your gateway to Xylokastro. From Athens, Xylokastro is approximately a 90-minute drive along one of Greece’s most scenic coastal routes, with breathtaking views of the Corinthian Gulf and surrounding mountains.
Flights
Athens International Airport (ATH) is the best arrival point for our wedding. It offers excellent international service and a convenient starting point for the easy onward journey to Xylokastro.
Rental Car
For those who love the freedom to wander, we recommend renting a car. There are many unique neighboring towns and villages near Xylokastro if you plan to explore. A rental car allows you to experience the Peloponnese at your own pace and is especially ideal if you’re turning our wedding into a longer holiday (which we highly encourage!).
If you’re staying at Arion Hotel, complimentary on-site parking is available for guests.
Our recommendation is Athens Car Rental, a company we’ve personally used and had a wonderful experience with. Athens International Airport also offers several well-known international agencies, including Hertz, Enterprise, and Avis.
If you plan to drive in Greece, be sure to bring:
- A valid U.S. driver’s license
- An International Driving Permit (IDP)
Greek law requires international visitors to carry both documents while driving. Your IDP can be obtained before your trip through the American Automobile Association (AAA).
Private Transfers
For a seamless arrival, we recommend arranging a private transfer from Athens International Airport (ATH) to Xylokastro. No navigating unfamiliar roads, coordinating transportation, or worrying about tolls. Simply arrive, relax, and enjoy the ride.
Our family has personally used Leading Chauffeur Services by Limotours and had a great experience. For more information please visit limotours.gr to book your private transfer.
